Aidaf-EY Chair in Strategic Management in Family Business in memory of Alberto Falck

On November 24, 2003, an agreement concluded by the Italian Family Businesses Association (AIdAF) and Milan's Luigi Bocconi University instituted the university's first chair funded by an outside private organisation: the AIdAF - Alberto Falck Chair in Strategic Management in Family Business, dedicated to the entrepreneur Alberto Falck, AIdAF's founder and president. AIdAF was set up in 1997 and serves as a stable interlocutor for every stakeholder interested in initiatives related to family business.

The new AIdAF-EY Chair in Strategic Management in Family Business in memory of Alberto Falck, supported by the De Agostini Group and other Italian companies, has been inaugurated on March 4, 2015. The new chair, owned by Guido Corbetta, Professor of Business Strategy in Bocconi University, continues the activities of the chair opened in 2003 and, thanks to the involvement of the Global Family Business Center of Excellence of EY (the new Ernst & Young brand), has now become permanent. A "permanent chair" means that the backers finance a fund managed by the University. Fund's return is used to support the chair's activities, dedicated to in-depth study of the family businesses' topic.

In 2005, AIdAF decided unanimously to give the “Family Company” award to the De Agostini Group. This important prize was awarded on November 11, 2005, to Marco Drago, Chairman of De Agostini S.p.A.
